I have been contemplating taking my family on a Disney cruise . I am not completely new to cruises I have been on two 7 day cruises and one 15 day cruise. But they have been on two different cruise lines. The first two were when I was only 19 and 20 so my parents took care of planning and footed the bill. The first cruise we took was on a Brand New Carnival ship The Elation that was 1999. It went to Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan and Cabo San Lucas. The food was great service excellent and I really enjoyed the shows and fun things to do. We unfortunately never got to See Cabo San Lucas a storm came and we had to stay on board. Puarto Vallarta was beautiful we stayed the day at beautiful all-inclusive resort with beach and pools ocean and so much to do and eat. They even had a zoo there that was incredible . For being my first cruise and I was sharing a room with my 4-year-old nephew it was the best. Just a few months later we went on a different cruise line Princess aboard the Grand Princess we visited St Thomas, St Martens and the Private Princess Cay island. I enjoyed the destinations better and weather was perfect . But service was not the best and food was hit and miss. The night club was so much fun and was packed and had lots of energy the pool and game areas were terrific. That cruise was in 2000.
It took me until April 2014 to go on my third cruise my fiancé booked us a 15 day Hawaiian cruise for our honeymoon. This was by far the longest I’d been at sea. I had never got sick the past two cruises but first two days at sea were rough for me on this trip. We were on the sister ship of the Grand Princess I’d been on 14 years earlier. I have so many wonderful memories from that trip as it was my honeymoon. But weather on ship was terrible which led to us eating more than I wished. I had planned to workout but vomited heavily all the days at sea finally took something to help with that. We enjoyed the pool some days and there was tons of entertainment and night life. Unfortunately the night club which was identical to the one I loved 14 years earlier was like a dead night at Denny’s with nearly no people and tired music. Most of the guests were in there 70’s and beyond. So that is probably why. All our destinations were perfect the weather the excursions the food . We stopped at the Big Island and it was my first time. My husband booked us a zip line adventure. His first time my second, we were so excited . It was an incredible day beautiful sites thrilling zip line 7 in total.
Our next stop was Maui and we spent the day having lunch and shopping and wrapped it up with a wonderful Whale watching excursion.
Off to Oahu where we played at the beach toured the island and then did a dinner cruise to cap off our day there.
Kauai was our last stop before the long journey home and it was our favorite. We had a fantastic day we started with a mind-blowing helicopter tour of the island. I’d been on helicopter tours in Hawaii but it was my husbands first ever. We then had a wonderful lunch on the beach. We decided to have a private balcony dinner that night and it was spectacular . We also enjoyed the pictures they took at formal nights and other events As it captures our honeymoon and we were able to live in the moment without phones or cameras. I will say considering I did not like much on the dining menu I liked the carbs and sweets and had sometimes two desserts a night if I did not like my main course. I had already been indulging the past 3-4 months leading up to wedding and when I got home the scale showed.
My husband also gained weight and I think that’s why we have not gone a cruise sense but we both want to .Our two kids have not been on a cruise ever. Plus we want to try Disney Cruise line and Royal Caribbean . We want to see Western Caribbean, Alaska, Australia and Tahiti, Mediterranean and much more .
I will ill post once I plan my next cruise and during and after. Thank you for reading and I appreciate all comments.
