The Toddler Times

My beautiful sweet girl is going to be 19 months next week. Boy how time flies. She is so verbal she is saying more words everyday and eating very well. I have not felt comfortable yet to start giving her utensils. But I will start incorporating that soon enough. I am noticing how much energy and strength she possesses. She can be very stubborn and I don’t always like her behavior and am working to get certain  things she does to stop. She is very lovable and I am blessed that although her sleep routine has been having hiccups lately. She almost every night sleeps through the night and has since she was just a few months old. She also still gets in two small naps a day each day. I am curious on when she will be ready to start potty training. My son did that so quickly but its been nine years since I have dealt with a toddler of my own and I am rusty. My darling girl loves the outdoors and she loves to climb and play in dirt, mud and rocks. She likes to throw which is cool outside inside not so much. She has a fit during diaper changing as well as anytime I try to brush and style her hair. I do not understand this behavior from her I wish I knew why she did this. I am trying to read with her a lot and show her pictures and tell her names of everything sound things out. I want to get her involved in fun class activities like gymnastics, dance, soccer anything that she is old enough to try to enjoy. I am thinking of venturing out to a kids movie with her soon. I can say it is truly amazing how much personality she has already and how she is truly her own little person. She loves her family and has favorite people. She has her favorite blanket and a few favorite toys and shows and songs. She absolutely loves to dance and is a happy girl. I look forward to the months ahead and will post as we go.
